The segment addresses the role of Subprime Lenders. The Florida Housing Coalition provides this video highlight from its recent introductory workshop on Florida’s Foreclosure Crisis. This is one of three video segments that review several factors causing the high foreclosure rates. Additional audio recordings are available from the Coalition on the following subjects:
1. Best practices for homebuyer counseling, underwriting, and subordination policies, that help to prevent foreclosures.
2. Changes to the credit market that will affect future low income affordable housing buyers.
3. How SHIP can be used to ist those facing foreclosure.
This one-day class is part of the Housing Counseling Certification program offered by Neighborworks America and taught by the Florida Housing Coalition. Certification is offered to an individual who completes this class and also a 5-day curriculum, which will be taught by the Florida Housing Coalition in the second half of 2008.
